An email from West End Kids Club was sent to parents that it will soon close after the local school it was operating from 'sought to increase their rent.' West End Kids Club was in charge of the breakfast and after school clubs at Denton West End Primary School on Balmoral Drive.
However, after decades of service, the owner of the business sent an email to parents on Monday morning about its imminent closure on 25 October.
The headteacher of Denton West End Primary School released an email to parents on Tuesday stating that they were unaware of the club's plans to close, the rise in rent was 'necessary' and that there plans in place to continue the running of the service. READ MORE: Borough's housing wait hits 12 years with families left in 'dire' overcrowded conditions The email by the West End Kids Club announced with a 'heavy heart' that operating the club was no longer 'viable' after the primary school 'recently sought to double the rent paid for the rooms' it used to look after 103 children.
In the heartfelt message, business owner, Jeanette Horsfall, said that she was 'sincerely sorry' for the 'shock' and 'inconvenience' the news would cause.
