Paisley nightclub creates unique initiative to protect punters who have had one too many

A Paisley nightclub has introduced a unique new scheme to protect punters who have had too much to drink in the popular venue.Vienna’s in the town’s New Street takes the safety of its customers seriously and already has a number of policies in place such as an undercover clubber to prevent spiking incidents and the Ask for Angela initiative which assists female clubbers if they feel unsafe.The club now wants to take that even further and has now introduced their Last Orders Badge initiative – thought to be one of the only policies of its kind in the country’s nightclub scene.Revellers in the busy clubbing spot who have been deemed a bit worse for wear by security will be assessed by the club’s on-site medical team and, if deemed safe to stay, they will be given the ‘Last Orders Badge’ which will prevent them from being sold any more alcohol.The badge, however, will allow them access to free and unlimited water or soft drinks, enabling them to remain safe in the venue with their friends rather than being turfed out to find a taxi potentially alone.The unique idea – which came into effect on Friday night – is the brainchild of venue manager, Stephen Adams.Renfrewshire Live, the new free app dedicated to bringing you around the clock breaking news, is now available to download.Powered by the Paisley Daily Express, Renfrewshire Live is your go-to source for news, features and sport with live coverage provided direct to the app, seven days a week.The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with
