Evil family killer Chris Watts has shared gory details of the murders of his wife and young daughters in horrifying letters sent from prison.

The 38-year-old took the lives of Shannan, 34, Bella, four, and Cece, three, in August 2018.The brute then buried Shannan, who was pregnant at the time, in a shallow grave at a work site around 40 miles from his home in Frederick, Colorado, US, before dumping his daughters' bodies in crude oil tanks, The Mirror reports.Watts' sickening crimes shocked locals and soon became national and international news, before gaining further notoriety when they were featured in a Netflix documentary, American Murder: The Family Next Door, which was released in 2020.Now, the murderer has described the deaths of his family in grim detail in letters sent from behind bars to author Cheryln Cadle from the Dodge Correctional Institution, Wisconsin.

As reported by The Mail, he described how he had been "thinking about killing" Shannan for several weeks - and that he failed in his initial attempt to smother his daughters, who followed him around the house while he dealt with his wife's body.Watts revealed that he knew he was going to commit the evil crimes the day beforehand.

One letter read: "August 12. When I finished putting the girls to bed, I walked away and said 'That's the last time I'm going to be tucking my babies in.' I knew what was going to happen the day before and I did nothing to stop it."Speaking of the murders, he told how Shannan's "eyes filled with blood" and he remembered her face "getting all black with streaks of mascara".
