Next Hibernian manager: Derek McInnes 'committed' to Kilmarnock insisting nothing changes

The Rugby Park boss has been mentioned as speculation grows for the vacant Hibernian managerial gig.Former Killie League Cup-winner Lee Johnson was sacked by the Edinburgh club at the weekend, and early bookies odds had McInnes as a leading candidate.
But he's made it clear that the project at Killie has his full focus. When asked how he deals with the links, he said: “Nothing changes, to be honest.“I have committed to Kilmarnock and they have committed to me.“I’m really enjoying what we are doing here and, this club for me, we have only just scratched the surface and we are looking to keep driving it on.“So any distractions either way whether it is good or bad, I think it is important we just concentrate on the job and that’s what we are doing.“My focus is just trying to have our club have the strongest season possible, to be honest.“You can’t help names being mentioned, but I am fully focused on this job.
It’s only right that is said.“I am really enthused by what we are trying to do here.“I feel it was an opportunity in the summer to try and put my squad together and I feel as though we have brought a lot of players who I am excited by.“I think there still is that potential here.
The season-tickets have been magnificent and we are just trying to drive this whole thing on.“I have been around long enough to know that, whether it is outside pressures when you are not doing so well or if there are jobs you are being linked with, it is nothing to concern yourself with.”McInnes hopes his side can continue their strong start to the season when the Staggies come to town, and wants to continue their impressive home form.He
