Murder probe launched after body of woman found in Scots flat
dailyrecord.co.ukPolice have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found dead at a flat in Ayr.Cops raced to the property on Nursery Hall in the South Ayrshire town after the alarm was raised at around 10.15am on Monday.
A 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.Following a post-mortem, investigators are now treating her death as murder.Pictures taken from the scene on Monday showed a large area of the street cordoned off by officers with uniformed cops standing guard.Detective Chief Inspector Peter Sharp said: “An extensive investigation is underway, including officers carrying out door-to-door enquiries.“Officers are also working to find out the last time the deceased was seen and the circumstances leading up to her death.“Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should contact us immediately.
