English Premier League clubs are set to lose a staggering combined fee of £48million with the new ruling that gambling sponsorships will be banished from the 2026/27 season. The league produced a statement on Thursday confirming that gambling sponsors will no longer be allowed to be adorned on the front of shirts.

This comes after mass appeal from counter-gambling groups, who have long yearned for the reduction of betting advertising in the biggest league in the world. Many famous companies such as Dafabet - who currently sponsor Celtic - alongside Mansion, bet365, Fun88 and more have become synonymous with Premier League shirts in the past for their huge logos which ultimately have enticed fans to gamble with them; though that will be no more.

A report by SportingPedia has analysed the deals that current Premier League teams have at their disposal, with eight of the 20 having gambling sponsors on the front of their shirts.Everton and West Ham will currently stand to lose the most as per their current deals with Stake and BetWay respectively - to the tune of a huge £10m.

Then come Southampton, Leeds and Newcastle, who will lose £7.5m, £6m and £5m respectively in a huge detriment to their finances.Coming in at the foot of the table are Bournemouth, Fulham and Brentford - who will lose £4m from Dafabet, £3m from w88 and £2.5m from Hollywood Bets respectively. This takes the total up to an astonishing £48m, with the clubs in question now having to seek alternative means of investment by August 2026.
