The mum of a convicted murderer sent knives and other contraband into jail for her son as part of the largest prison smuggling ring ever uncovered.Campbell, was given a life sentence for arranging the murder of 16-year-old Liam Kelly in 2004.
The killer was part of the elaborate scheme to flood HMP Lindholme with millions of pounds of contraband including drugs. Campbell, his mum Deborah Stoddard, and 15 other co-conspirators smuggled drugs, knives and mobile phones into the Category C prison and then laundered the huge profits, a court heard.
Shockingly, it was revealed that knives planned to be smuggled into the jail were to be used against prison staff reports the ECHO.
Others involved in the plot included six inmates at the prison, as well as family members and friends. Campbell was one of a group of men who sold drugs inside the jail.
