Ukraine appeal organiser earns national Points of Light honour from Prime Minister

A big-hearted gran who has collected and sent more than 4000 baby boxes to new families in Ukraine has been recognised with a national award.Jackie Crawford set up the Scottish pre-loved baby box appeal at the start of the war in the eastern European country in February 2022, and has since co-ordinated the sending of thousands of essential supplied including nappies, baby food and clothes to 40 maternity hospitals.Now she has been named as a recipient of the Points of Light award, an honour awarded each day by the Prime Minister to “outstanding volunteers who are making a positive change in their community and inspiring others”.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
