A mum has issued a warning to fellow parents after her toddler suffered third-degree burns. Laura Hitchlings' son, Arthur, was two years old when he managed to climb onto a stool at home and grab a freshly made pot of coffee from the kitchen side.

Laura, 34, said she quickly popped to the bathroom as he played with his nine-year-old sister. However, Laura quickly rushed back after hearing him screaming - and found Arthur covered in steaming hot coffee.

She quickly ripped off his hoodie and carried him to the garden so she could soak him under the cold tap before dialling 999.

Paramedics arrived at the Stretham home around 33 minutes later and took the toddler to Addenbrooke Hospital, Cambridge.
