Palace had acquired Olise three years prior from Reading at a cost of £9m. Ever since, he established himself as a crucial asset to the Eagles, attracting interest from elite Premier League clubs such as United and Chelsea.
The 22-year-old almost joined Chelsea last summer but opted to renew his contract at Selhurst Park instead. His contract featured a release clause, which Bayern chose to activate the previous month.
