A show parodying cult 1981 movie Mommy Dearest in Manchester this week has been cancelled following the tragic death of co-star and legendary San Francisco drag queen Heklina.
Mommie Queerest, starring Peaches Christ and Heklina, was set to take place at HOME from Wednesday (April 5) until Saturday (April 8) following a run at London’s Soho Theatre last week.
Peaches - who also hails from San Francisco - posted on social media to say co-star Heklina, 54, was found dead in London on Monday morning (April 3). I am living in a real-life nightmare so forgive me if I don’t have all the answers just now. This morning, in London, England I went to collect my dear friend Heklina, who is co starring with me in a Mommie Queerest show here, and found her dead. “I do not know the cause of death yet.
