Man taken to hospital after crash in Ayrshire village sparks emergency response

A man has been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in an Ayrshire village.Emergency services raced to the village of Sorn in East Ayrshire around 9.35am this morning after a two car smash on the Main Street.Fire crews were spotted at the scene alongside police.One man was taken to hospital as a precaution.Another man was also issued with a fixed penalty notice.The road was closed down for several hours but reopened again this afternoon.A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called to a report of a two-car crash on Main Street, Sorn around 9.35am on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.“Emergency services attended and one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.”“One man has been issued with a fixed penalty notice.“The road has now re-opened.” Read next: Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines – sign up to our free daily newsletter
