A rapist who attacked a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions over four months has walked free from court. Sean Hogg pounced on the girl several times between March and June 2018 at a park just outside Edinburgh.

He assaulted her by threatening her and pulling down her lower clothing, according to court papers. The now 21-year-old then held her by her wrists and made the girl carry out a sex act on him, the Daily Record reports.

Hogg would then push her head down and rape her. He was 17 at the time of the attacks at Dalkeith Country Park, Midlothian. But Hogg was handed a community order by the judge as new guidelines introduced in Scotland last year mean under 25s are given rehabilitation rather than punishment.
