A man has been left injured after being 'slashed' in a violent brawl at a pub during the Manchester derby. The dramatic scenes erupted at the Mottram Wood pub and carvery, off Stockport Road, in Hattersley on Sunday afternoon (March 3).

Emergency services, including police, the Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) and paramedics attended the scene shortly before 4.30pm. The violent scenes occured as the Manchester derby was being played on screens at the venue.

A cordon was erected around the car park and the pub voluntarily closed amid investigations. A man, whose age is not known, suffered a laceration to his hand after being 'slashed' and is in hospital. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At approximately 4.27pm, officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a pub on Stockport Road, Mottram this afternoon (Sunday 3 March). "A group of males were fighting inside the pub.
