The new quiz was introduced as a replacement for the iconic Popmaster following the departure of Ken Bruce, who left the radio station after 31 years. He has now moved to Greatest Hits Radio – and taken the hit concept with him.

The Marché du Film will work with ICEX Spain Trade & Investment and ICAA – Institute of Cinematography & Audiovisual Arts to showcase Spanish talent and content, ranging from cinema to documentary, animation and extended reality. Spain follows India which became Cannes’ first official Country of Honor in 2022. The industry event launched the initiative last year to spotlight and celebrate different nations at each market edition. Spain’s cinema sector has been having a banner 2023. Last month, Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren’s debut feature “20,000 Species of Bees” won three awards at the Berlinale, while Albert Serra’s “Pacifiction” won two Cesar awards, and Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s “The Beasts” won the Cesar award for best foreign film. Recent successes last year also include Carla Simón’s “Alcarràs” which won last year’s Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and Alberto Mielgo’s “The Windshield Wiper” which won best animated short film at The Academy Awards).

Discovery forging a new multi-year licensing deal under which it will become the exclusive home for HBO content in the region. Naman Ramachandran Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service has signed an agreement with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) to produce age ratings for content. The agreement will enable Prime Video to build on their existing trust and safety tools, in order to move towards the in-house production of BBFC age ratings that are in line with the BBFC’s classification guidelines. The BBFC will support Prime Video as they adapt their rating methodologies in the U.K. to fully reflect the BBFC’s classification standards. This will extend the presence of the BBFC’s trusted guidance on the streaming service in the U.K,, the BBFC said. As part of the agreement, the BBFC will share additional expertise and insight into the standards they apply when classifying film, video and TV content.
