Two senior pupils at a Lanarkshire school are eagerly anticipating the new term after being appointed to senior leadership roles.Patrick McKeown and Emilia Faulkiner are the new head boy and girl at Hamilton Grammar for 2023-2024, and were chosen after “both gave an outstanding performance” in the rigorous application process.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Both Emilia and Patrick are described as having “built up a strong reputation as motivated and committed pupils throughout their time in school”, with staff adding: “We are excited to see their achievements in the year ahead.” Head teacher Graeme Sives said: “It’s great to see such outstanding young people take on these important roles within Hamilton Grammar; I am sure both Paddy and Emilia will fly with the opportunity this gives them to have a positive influence and leave their mark.” The school will also be appointing two depute heads, six house captains and two head prefects from among its senior pupils, with appointments to be made shared when the new academic year begins in August.
