Back in 2019, we started to hear rumblings from Danny Boyle that he was interested in directing a new film in the “28 Days Later” franchise.

He kept saying that it was all in the hands of writer Alex Garland, whether or not it happened. Then the pandemic hit and the sequel discussion seemed to have disappeared a bit.
