In a striking move in the last full week of campaigning before the by-election, Michael Shanks and Anas Sarwar visited Cambuslang to unveil their billboard promising to bolster workers’ rights.On October 5, voters in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West constituency will vote in a by-election, prompted by a successful petition to remove MP Margaret Ferrier in June 2023 due to her violation of Covid-19 regulations in September 2020.Last Friday, the Scottish Labour leader and the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election candidate for the party made an appearance in Cambuslang in front of their brand new advertising board which promises a fresh start for workers if they are elected.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
