Katie Piper has revealed she's undergone surgery on her left eye to help prevent her from losing her eye altogether, in a candid new post.

The Loose Women panellist, 40, took to social media on Wednesday to share an update with her fans alongside a series of photographs of her eye after the procedure.

In a lengthy caption, she detailed her operation and opened up to her fans, saying she still finds it "mentally hard" to be reminded of her acid attack ordeal.

Katie was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice in March 2008, causing major damage to her face and blindness in one eye.
