Kate Middleton may break a major royal tradition in a historic future move for her eldest son and future King, Prince George. The 10-year-old prince who is second in line to the throne has sparked public curiosity regarding which school he might attend in the future during his teenage years. The young heir currently attends Lambrook Prep school near the family's Windsor home of Adelaide Cottage with his younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, it's currently unknown which exact school George will attend once his time at the prep school, which only educates pupils up to the age of 13, comes to an end.

It's been widely speculated that the prince will follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle Prince Harry in attending the prestigious Eton College, the Mirror reports.Earlier this year, Prince George was spotted touring the campus with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

But another potential school has now been thrown into the mix for the young prince which is Marlborough College where his mother Kate formerly attended.According to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden, the mum-of-three was recently seen paying a visit to her former school, leading to speculation it could be considered for George. If George ends up enrolled at Marlborough, it would see him become the first future King to complete his compulsory education in all co-ed establishments as Marlborough admits both girls and boys like the royal's current Lambrook school.

Royals only began to attend formal schools in relatively recent years with the late Queen being educated in her own home like the other monarchs before her.
