The Princess of Wales's love for tennis is well-documented and obvious each year when she enthusiastically attends Wimbledon as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
While Kate, who recently appeared at Trooping the Colour, is not expected to visit the famed tournament this year due to her treatment for cancer, other members of the Royal Family and the Middleton clan are regular faces in the Royal box who have also been seen getting absorbed in the games.
Kate's father, known sports enthusiast Michael Middleton, had an awkward encounter that left Kate "mortified" - a tale she revealed in the 2017 BBC documentary Our Wimbledon hosted by Sue Barker.
Kate recalled how her dad attempted to stay cool when they crossed paths with former British number one tennis player Tim Henman, saying: "My father is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen [Pete] Sampras play," reports the Mirror. "My dad said very coolly: 'Hi Pete'.
