Jude Bellingham's Euro 2024 fate confirmed - as Uefa come down hard on England
ok.co.ukEngland superstar Jude Bellingham is free to play in tomorrow's quarter-final game against Switzerland after being handed a one-match suspended ban and a fine.The striker was being investigated for a crotch-grabbing gesture he made during the team's win over Slovakia on Sunday afternoon - which he insisted was a joke for pals, not a insult to the opponent's bench.
While he will be allowed to play, Euros organisers Uefa - the Union of European Football Associations - have come down hard on both England and Jade, 21, over the matter.
He will serve a one-match ban suspended for a year and has personally been fined 30,000 Euros (£25,400). England's FA have also been hit with a financial penalty.
Bellingham, who has made similar gestures while playing for his club Real Madrid, insisted that it was "an inside-joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game".
