Former President Donald Trump appeared to be opening the door again to a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris that is not sponsored by Fox News.

Over the weekend, Trump floated a Sept. 4 debate on Fox News, and claimed that a previously scheduled Sept. 10 ABC News event had been “terminated.” But that was interpreted as Trump backing out of the latter, as Harris’ campaign claimed that he was “running scared” and “running straight to Fox News to bail him out.” On Fox and Friends this morning, Trump suggested that something was in the works, albeit he hinted that it would not be on the network. “We’ll be debating her in the pretty near future.

It’s going to be announced fairly soon,” Trump said. “I would like to see it on Fox, by the way.
