Jane’s Addiction have quietly shared a new single called ‘True Love’ after announcing their hiatus earlier this week. Check it out below. The iconic alt-rock band recently returned to their original line-up of Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery, and released the single ‘Imminent Redemption’ – their first new music together in 34 years. They then embarked on a series of UK shows together, including an intimate comeback gig at Bush Hall, before confirming details of a US tour with Love & Rockets. However, during a recent show in Boston, tensions began to mount on stage, leading to Farrell shouting at Navarro, before bringing the show to a halt by shoving the guitarist.

The band would later go on to apologise to fans, cancel the remainder of their US tour dates and announce a hiatus. Now, the band have continued with the scheduled release of a new single called ‘True Love’ – sharing the song on Spotify but not posting any promotion for it.Opening with awe-inspiring, swirling instrumentals, the track goes on to introduce a soothing vocal melody by Farrell, who recalls his first time falling for someone.“When I first felt true love, I was very young/ I tried to describe it to my friends/ You’re floating in something that’s way over your head/ Wading in the waters of true love,” he sings.

Listen here:While the song has only just been shared officially, the band did give it a live debut while on stage in London earlier this year.Performing at the aforementioned warm-up gig at Bush Hall, the members introduced the ethereal track into the set and told fans they could expect to see it released at a later date. That show was their first with the original line-up in decades.
