Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon has shared a surprising confession with fans, as he revealed he had been forced to destroy an abandoned house on his farm over fears that it was haunted. The Footloose star purchased the property back in 1983, but one of the conditions of the sale meant that he had agreed to knock down the outhouse on the property, or else the previous owner wouldn't sell the home to him.

Explaining the situation to listeners on Rob Lowe's Literally podcast, Kevin said that over the course of a few years he had been buying parcels of land in the hopes of owning a horse, but one of the pieces he purchased had come with a very spooky caveat.

He said: ”One of the pieces that we bought had an old house in it and [the owner] didn’t want me to own the house. It was an abandoned house that he had grown up in. "We kind of went back and forth on it for a while and then, eventually, I said, 'Listen, you can't sell me a piece of land but not sell me the house that’s on it.

Like, that's just weird. What if you sell it and there's somebody that’s just living, basically, right up in the backyard?’” It was then that it emerged that the reason the previous owner had been so cagey about the sale, was because he believed the house was haunted and feared that the young actor may “get possessed” and “do some serious damage." After dropping the bombshell, the owner did finally agree to sell the piece of land, but gave Kevin strict instructions to destroy the old house within a month of purchasing the Connecticut based property.
