Jonny Hayes believes Barry Robson’s newly-assembled side can help Aberdeen make their mark domestically and in the Europa Conference League.The Dons kick off their European adventure with one of their biggest challenges on Thursday when they travel to take on Bundesliga big-hitters Eintracht Frankfurt.
It kicks off a back-breaking run of fixtures that will see Aberdeen play five big league, cup and European fixtures in a 17 day spell, where they need to turn their stuttering season around.Robson has done major surgery, bringing in 13 signings in the last window, knowing they had the extra challenge of extended European football until Christmas.
They also have the early experience of their recent Europa League play-off exit at the hands of BK Hacken. Hayes insisted: “Time will tell but I’d like to think we can compete We’ve brought in good numbers and having seen the boys I’ve been able to see them in training.“I know you can’t turn up and play well every game but we’ve brought real quality into the building.
We’ve got quantity and quality and the new lads look good already.“Some like Nicky Devlin have settled quickly but I’m in no doubt the squad is in a good place.
