Housing association helps customers access £2.7m of benefit entitlements

A Lanarkshire-based social landlord helped its customers to claim more than £2.7 million in benefits during the past year.Trust housing association’s three-person benefits team assisted with 359 cases during 2023-2024 and made referrals for residents to access housing benefit, council tax reductions, attendance and adult disability allowances plus pension credits.Officials say their tailored advice, both for existing customers and those who have been made offers to move into one of the association’s 4000 properties across Scotland, “offers clear support and guidance” and that “their dedicated work makes our customers’ lives easier”.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
