BBC Escape to the Country host halts show as couple 'can't control themselves' on Scottish house search

Nicki Chapman brought the waterworks on Escape to the Country as she found the perfect new home in Scotland in record time on Thursday's episode.Last night's show saw a triumphant return of Nicki, who was assisting Matt, a retired wine merchant, and Lizzy, a former primary school teacher from Epsom, Surrey, who were on the hunt for their dream dwelling in Argyll and Bute.

Reflecting on his love for Scotland, Matt commented: "When I first went to Scotland in about 1970 I just fell in love with the place and I think it is the most admirable country.

I love the people, I love the psychology of the people up there." Following suit, Lizzy added her reasons to relocate: "You know, it is beautifully wild.

The nature there is astounding and it's really a gem that we're longing to explore."With a hefty £600,000 budget at their disposal, the couple wanted a detached house with a minimum of three bedrooms, room for Lizzy's crafts, a kitchen-diner, and if possible, a conservatory.
