F1 is taking a break for a while after Sunday’s (July 28) 2024 Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Spa, Belgium. Formula 1 drivers and their teams will be going on a holiday break this summer for several weeks, which if you’re newer to the racing sport, this is actually something that happens every year.

For F1, the season lasts all year long, and this year there are 24 race weekends, with several back-to-back races throughout the year.

While there are nearly two week-long breaks throughout the season, the biggest break comes in the summer about halfway through the season.

So, why are they taking a long break and when does the season resume? Keep reading to find out more… This year’s break officially begins on Monday, July 29th and will last until August 22nd when the preview day for the next race, heading into the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix race weekend.
