Helen Flanagan's 'heartbreaking' health battle which left her in therapy for a year

Helen Flanagan has been secretly struggling with a 'heart breaking' health battle for years after the birth of her children which left her feeling rock bottom.The former Corrie star, who shares her three kids Matilda, eight, Delilah, five and Charlie, two with her ex-fiancé footballer Scott Sinclair, has opened up about her battle with postnatal depression.The 33-year-old took to Instagram last year to open up about her struggles after the birth of two of her kids which saw her in therapy for a year as she was left fighting intrusive thoughts and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).Helen opened up about her mental health struggles on World Mental Health Awareness Day last year and was praised by fans for being so honest about her experiences as a mother.Captioning a post, she wrote: "Mental health.

It's important to talk and know your not on your own and to be kind, kind as you can as life is so complicated."I struggled badly with post natal after Matilda and with Charlie x Matilda I was really unwell with after, I struggled really badly with OCD and intrusive thoughts and had cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a good year x." She continued: "I found an amazing book by @bryonygordon 'No such thing as normal' and I'd really recommend it x A good therapist can really help and I feel lucky I've always been able to speak to my mum and had good friends x you're not on your own x chose this pic as even though I didn't look it I had bad post natal with Charlie x."
