Many mobile and broadband customers across the country will see their prices go up in April. Generally, firms introduce price increases for contracts in the spring by either the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or the Retail Price Index (RPI) plus an additional 3 per cent, 3.7 per cent or 3.9 per cent.
Most of the calculations are based on December's inflation figures, which for 2023 stood at 4 per cent. Uswitch calculated that customers could their annual costs go up around £27.19 for broadband and £24.23 for mobile bills on average.
