A 50p tin of supermarket beans have been rated 'better than Heinz' in an official taste test. Consumer experts Which? compared beans from supermarkets including Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Co-Op, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury's to see which tasted the best compared to the leading brand.
Budget retailers Aldi and Lidl both missed out on the top spot. 'Posh' supermarkets M&S and Waitrose also failed to secure the number one placing in the rankings.

gathered a panel of regular baked bean eaters to rate each product for taste, texture, aroma and appearance. Panellists didn’t know which brand they were trying, and were in a private booth so they could not confer.
