Bananas, cherished for their distinctive taste and nutritional benefits, unfortunately, bruise easily due to their delicate nature..Not only are they susceptible to damage from mishandling or improper storage, but bananas also tend to brown quickly, often spoiling before they're fully enjoyed.

While some people resort to purchasing extremely unripe bananas to extend their shelf life, one food guru suggests a different tactic.Gary Ellis, the director at CE Safety, has shared that bananas can remain fresh for around 10 days if his preservation technique is applied as soon as they reach optimal ripeness.

He explained: "Where you should store your bananas to stop them going prematurely brown has always been a hot topic of conversation," reports the Express.

Highlighting that ethylene gas, which bananas naturally produce, is responsible for their browning, Gary emphasised the importance of managing this gas.He recommends adhering to the well-known advice of keeping bananas separate from other fruits, especially those that "release excess ethylene gas".
