manchestereveningnews.co.ukEmmerdale's Lisa Riley has taken fans of the soap back nearly 30 years with a nostalgic throwback photo. Lisa, who was born in Bury in Greater Manchester and plays Mandy Dingle in the ITV show, is marking an important anniversary for her character today (July 20).
Posting a photo on her Instagram page of Mandy standing beside fellow character Dave Glover in a scene from 28 years ago, Lisa wrote in a caption: "“ON THIS DAY” HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MANDY!!!!
20th July 1995 Mandy first arrived in the village at Tina and Luke’s wedding…..all those years ago, with the wonderfully gorgeous @iankelseyofficial we laughed then, and we are laughing even more now.
The joys of my DINGLE FAMILY." Lisa trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop and has played Mandy in two stints on Emmerdale, the first from 1995 to 2001 and then from 2019 to the present day.
