Emmerdale fans were surprised when Jai Sharma's real dad made a sudden appearance in the village. Over the summer, Jai was heartbroken when he stumbled across his adoption papers while looking for his divorce papers after asking Laurel to marry him.
It confirmed that Rishi Sharma wasn't actually his dad after all and it's fair to say he struggled to accept the news and was quick to cast Rishi out, leaving him heartbroken.
The truth was eventually revealed when Jai's mum, Georgia, arrived in the village. She eventually confessed she had an affair with Rishi's married brother and when Georgia fell pregnant, Rishi helped her raise his brother's child.
But tragically, before they could make amends, Rishi died on Jai and Laurel's wedding day. And at the end of last week, Jai blurted out the truth to Suni Sharma that they're actually brothers, not cousins, leaving him blindsided.
