Eastenders legend Sylvia Syms, who played the role of Peggy Mitchell's pal Olive Woodhouse in Albert Square from 2007 to 2010 has left over £1 million in her will.The star, who passed away in January 2023 at the age of 89 is said to have donated some of her money to acting schools and charities, The Sun reports.The publication also reveals that Sylvia bequeathed most of her estate to her two children, as per probate documents.The huge cash sum of £1.43 million included £5,000 donations to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art school and £2k each to Intermission and Age UK.
The remainder, including her property, is said to have gone to her children, Ben and Beatie - who took after her mum as a TV actress appearing in dramas including Rosemary & Thyme, A Touch of Frost, Prime Suspect and Inspector Morse.
Sylvia shot to fame in the 1950s in Ice Cold in Alex, and went on to achieve an incredible six decade career, in which she starred in over 120 film, TV and theatre productions, before retiring in 2019.
Notable appearances include her role as The Queen Mother alongside Helen Mirren in the Oscar-winning 2006 royal movie, The Queen.
