Now, many believe they spotted a clue that Danny Dyer could be reprising his role in the BBC soap sooner rather than later. Mick vanished at sea in December 2022 after trying to save childhood sweetheart Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and villainous Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Both women survived, yet Mick never returned and was declared dead despite a body never being recovered. Linda has continued to struggle in the aftermath of her husband's disappearance, with the pub landlady turning to alcohol to cope again.
Her downward spiral was made worse following the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day. In Monday's (10 June) episode of EastEnders, Linda told how she'd been dreaming of Mick and was struggling with her son Ollie's questions about his death.
