In the most recent instalment of Escape to the Country, viewers were introduced to Carol and William from Hertfordshire, who decided it was time to downsize from their substantial 5-bedroom house as their children had flown the nest.Carol, however, had a more pressing reason for seeking a new beginning away from the home they'd lived in for almost 30 years.
She revealed: "I am registered blind, partially sighted and I would really like to be able to have a bit more freedom to get to the shops by myself."As they explored potential new locales, it became clear that integrating into a vibrant community and finding a smaller, more manageable home was at the top of their list.
William agreed, expressing a desire for: "Something more rural with some countryside and a gentler pace of life."Tasked with finding the ideal property was Jules Hudson, who was briefed on the couple's preferences which included an open plan layout, a secure garden for their dog, and a budget ceiling of £900,000.
The couple also highlighted the importance of being close to local services and having a home filled with natural light, ideally with three bedrooms.
