A dealer involved in supplying drugs to an undercover cop in Piccadilly Gardens has been banned from the city centre. Demitrius Wright, 34, was with a group in the centre of Manchester when he took a £20 note from the officer before handing it to an associate.
Within minutes, the pair had gone behind a corner and Wright came back with a ‘rock’ of crack cocaine, Manchester Crown Court heard.

police soon found out why The following day the officer was walking close to Piccadilly Gardens when he heard the other male he had seen with Wright shout over to him whilst standing near the Crafty Pig pub on Oldham Street. “The male beckoned him over and asked what he wanted, and the officer said: ‘Two white’ before handing over a £20 note,” prosecutor Harriet Lavin said, recounting this second meeting. “He then produced a clear plastic bag containing a large quantity of wraps, and then gave him two of those.
