Coronation Street spoilers as Evelyn 'devastated' by Cassie's decision and Tyrone is left shocked

Coronation Street is set to air some tense and heartbreaking episodes next week, as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) fears she has lot her grandson Tyrone for good after the truth is exposed about her years of deception about who is real mother is.Evelyn comes face to face with her worst fears during the ITV soap next week when Tyrone, played by Alan Halsall, learns that his biological mum Cassie is actually still alive and will later discover she is even roaming around the cobbles, reports DigitalSpy.Evelyn and Cassie both return to Weatherfield after a few weeks away after she had been trying to get Cassie clean following her latest drug relapse.

They move into a rented flat where Evelyn is determined to continue keeping a close eye on her troubled daughter.Cassie however gets fed up with being shut out from the outside and encourages Evelyn to let her go out and purchase a coffee despite Evelyn not fully trusting her yet although she does agree as Cassie has been clean for weeks.But Evelyn soon panics when she realises her purse is missing.

Cassie later tracks down Tyrone at the Bistro who recognises her as "Cath" – the fake name she used when she recently visited the Dobbs house.A worried Evelyn rushes into the Bistro but is too late as Cassie has already told Tyrone she's his mother.

His world is completely flipped upside down in front of his eyes as he realises Evelyn has been lying to him for years about his biological mum supposedly being dead.In a later episode in the week, Evelyn comes down hard on Cassie for revealing the truth to Tyrone as she points out the mess it has left before calling Tyrone at the garage to defend her lies as she explains she was only trying to protect him by her out of his life.Evelyn
