A loving Coltness couple still have a sparkle in their eyes for each other after 60 years of marriage.When Cyril Prater and Ann Ward met it was “love at first sight” for the teenagers and they recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary.Ann was from Shotts while Cyril was a Hamilton man, he worked as a painter and decorator at Hartwood Hospital and was meeting with friends in Shotts.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Ann had been a hairdresser and worked in Lewis’s department store in Glasgow but gave it up when they started their family.They would have four children, all of them born in Shotts.

Stephen, the eldest was born in 1963, Marie in 1966, Ann in 1967, and finally Eileen in 1979.They moved house as the family grew, as Marie explained: “They bought the first house in Station Road but it was wee and didn’t have a toilet in it.
