A man was stabbed in the neck outside of a pub after a row with two 'balaclava clad men', who are said to have fled the scene on electric bikes after the attack.

Police have confirmed that the victim was rushed to hospital after the 'spontaneous attack'.The brutal stabbing occurred last night in Greater Manchester, with emergency services scrambling to Manchester Road East just after 9.30pm.

Witnesses to the attack say that two balaclava-clad men got into a 'verbal altercation' with the victim before the attack.They claim that following the attack, the pair rode off on electric bikes to escape the scene.

Manchester Evening News reports that photographs taken from the scene this morning appear to show blood on the pavement near the New Albion pub.
