The beloved telly star, 64, was greeted with open arms by fellow Loose Women panelists Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter, and Brenda Edwards.

Coleen playfully halted proceedings, declaring: "Wait, wait, wait, before you carry on, can I just say I am so so happy you're back." To the sound of applause from the live audience, a visibly touched Ruth responded with a heartfelt "Aw" and a beaming smile, expressing her gratitude to her colleagues and the studio audience as she settled back in.

Janet quipped: "Thank God, Thank God, I was left with her," prompting giggles and applause from Brenda. With a lighthearted apology, Ruth chimed in, "I'm sorry Janet, I won't do it again," teasing: "I thought you were going to talk about long lost dogs for a second!" Coleen replied with a smirk: "I wanted to be nice to start with!" reports Wales Online.

Having been a staple on Loose Women since 1999 and stepping up as presenter in 2013, Ruth has long been a fixture on our screens.
