As the tension between Prince Andrew and King Charles over Royal Lodge shows no sign of dissipating, the Duke of York is reportedly set for a serene summer holiday at their late mother's beloved Balmoral cottage.
According to the Express, Prince Andrew, alongside his former wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, will spend time at Queen Elizabeth II's much-adored Craigowan retreat.
A source claimed that after becoming rather isolated at Royal Lodge since December, Prince Andrew is eagerly anticipating the escape. "Andrew has hardly left Royal Lodge since Christmas so he's very much looking forward to getting away with the rest of the family at Balmoral," the source said. "He's turned into a bit of a recluse, so the girls [Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie] are hoping that some nice family time will help cheer him up a bit and bring him out of his shell." It has been suggested that King Charles wants his brother to consider a more modest abode due to the financial burden of maintaining such a grand property.
