BLACKPINK's Agency YG Entertainment Speaks Out Amid Reports About Their Contracts Expiring

YG Entertainment is speaking out. The entertainment agency has released a statement regarding ongoing discussions of the BLACKPINK members’ contract renewal.

If you didn’t know, the massively popular K-pop girl group’s exclusive deals have expired with the agency, and they’re currently in negotiations about whether to renew. Keep reading to find out more… An industry report on Thursday (September 21) suggested that BLACKPINK member Rosé signed an agreement to renew her contract with YG Entertainment, and remaining three members – Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa are negotiating to transfer to other agencies while participating in BLACKPINK activities for six months of each year.

In response to the report, YG Entertainment released a short statement, via Soompi: “Currently, BLACKPINK’s contract renewal has not been confirmed and is being discussed.” BLACKPINK’s previous contracts with YG Entertainment expired last month.
