A football fan has been charged after allegedly making offensive comments about the Munich air disaster in a video on social media.

Northumbria Police said a 41-year-old man from North Shields has been charged with a public order offence. The man allegedly made the comments after Newcastle United won their match against Manchester City on Wednesday.

He will appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on October 18 and was bailed with conditions not to enter an exclusion zone around St James’ Park on match days.
