The 29-year-old had been suffering from shortness of breath and back ache for a while but decided to visit hospital once the sharp pains started.
The mechanic, from Didsbury, was accompanied by his partner Hayley Legge, who works as a senior healthcare assistant at The Christie hospital. Test results showed his lungs were so filled with blood clots he was close to death, leading medics to believe he had Covid.
