A café owner who starred in a Gordon Ramsay TV show has called Thyme on her business as she launches an exciting new venture.
Rachel Munro, previous owner of Thyme in Ayr, has sold up the successful Alloway Street spot after an incredible five years, which saw her battle it out on the BBC show Future Food Stars – aired earlier this year.
Rachel competed against other contestants for a slice of celebrity chef Ramsay’s fortune as the cooking icon offered up a £150,000 investment to a budding food entrepreneur.After making it all the way to the quarter-finals, Rachel has been inspired to focus on her dream of making a bakery product line.And she set sights that her tasty allergen free bakes under the name the Rebel Baker will one day hit the supermarket shelves.Rachel, 36, told Ayrshire Live: “I decided to sell Thyme as I wanted to move on to a product based business.
After coming off the show with Gordon Ramsay, it really sparked my interest in making and developing a product.“With my experience in baking, I thought why not go back to what I know best and launch a bakery based product line.
