3-13.Vikander will accept the festival’s Golden Eye Award on Oct. 8 when she presents the Swiss premiere of her new film “The Assessment,” which is directed by Fleur Fortuné.“The Assessment,” in which she stars opposite Elizabeth Olsen, tells the story of a society striving for perfection, living in a world devastated by climate change, trying to optimize life – including the assessment of parenthood.
A couple is examined by an assessor for seven days to determine their suitability to have children.The award recognizes her “outstanding acting performance and her consistently courageous and clever choice of roles,” as demonstrated in auteur films and blockbusters alike, including “Ex Machina,” “The Danish Girl,” “Anna Karenina,” “Jason Bourne,” “The Green Knight” and “Tomb Raider.” In 2015, she was awarded an Oscar for her performance as Gerda Wegener in Tom Hooper’s “The Danish Girl,” as well as a host of other awards including a SAG Award and Critics Choice Award.
She was nominated for BAFTAs for “The Danish Girl” and “Ex Machina.”“I am incredibly honored to be receiving the Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival and proud to be amongst such a talented list of past honorees.
