Alicia Vikander will be feted with the Zurich Film Festival‘s Golden Eye Award at its upcoming 20th edition, running from October 3 to 13.
Vikander will be handed the award on October 8 before presenting the Swiss premiere of her new film The Assessment by the director Fleur Fortuné.
Vikander’s credits include Ex Machina, The Danish Girl, Anna Karenina, Jason Bourne, The Green Knight, and Tomb Raider. In 2015, she won an Oscar for her performance as Gerda Wegener in Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl.
Her performance also landed her a SAG Award and Critics Choice Award. “I am incredibly honoured to be receiving the Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival and proud to be amongst such a talented list of past honourees,” Vikander has said. “I was last there in 2017, for the ZFF Masters and premiere of Euphoria, and I’m so pleased to be returning to the festival once again this year.” Previous award winners include Diane Kruger, Eddie Redmayne, Iris Berben, Kristen Stewart, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Malkovich, Helen Hunt and Olivia Colman.
